Women, did 2020 kick your butt?
This past year certainly did mine and most of the people I know! Let’s face it – life in society today is HARD! It is challenging for women especially!
Many women face depression, anxiety, life decisions, self-doubt, self-esteem, body image, work-life balance, family dynamics, relationships, past traumas, life transitions, aging, parenting, caring for aging parents. With a list this long – who can keep it all together without completely falling apart? The answer is NOT VERY MANY if everyone was truthful!!
Millions of women are suffering – you are not alone!
But like clothing, “one-size-fits-all” doesn’t fit the average person, so at IRIS Wellness Consultants, we will work collaboratively with you to determine your needs!
IRIS Wellness Consultants helps women overcome challenges, set and achieve personal goals, and improve their overall wellness needs. Our team uses person-centered, solution-focused approaches that help get you to be the best version of yourself you can be!
Life can kick you in the butt sometimes. Let our team help give you the courage and the confidence to kick it right back!
We don’t believe in making you dependent on us; we want to provide you with the skills and tools to do this on your own and get you living the life you deserve in the shortest amount of time possible.
Although we very much believe in the whole person and understand the mind, body, spirit connection, we want everyone to feel comfortable and welcome. We do not judge or discriminate based on personal beliefs, race, gender identity, socio-economic status, or political affiliations, so we ask that you do not as well. We believe everyone can feel and express their individuality; however, we will not allow or tolerate hatred or bullying of any kind towards others.
Our mission is to…
Provide a safe, caring, nonjudgmental environment for women to become the best versions of themselves. Wellness should be individualized, accessible, and affordable. Our clients will work collaboratively with our team to develop a treatment plan that best fits their needs.
Our client’s needs will always come first, and our values and professional ethics guide everything we do. Women should feel good about themselves and their efforts to succeed (as defined by each individual).
About Me
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado. And previously a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida. I will work with you collaboratively to decide the best treatment plan for you!
I primarily utilize a combination of Cognitive Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused modalities.
I spent most of my life as a “military brat,” moving around and changing schools often. I believe this was the beginning of building those resiliency skills. I received my bachelor’s degree in 1998 from Florida State University in Communication Disorders.
In 2004, with both my husband (attending the Fire Academy) and me working full-time, and a four-year-old – I made the decision to pursue my dream of going into behavioral health and obtaining my master’s degree to practice.
Like many others who go into behavioral health, I was on a personal journey of self-discovery – trying to make sense of “why am I the way I am?”
Shortly after the decision to continue my education, I discovered that I was pregnant. When my daughter was only four months old, I reluctantly left her at a babysitter to begin interning at a local Community Mental Health Center in Florida.
I ended up being hired as a paid employee a month later. With lots of hard work, perseverance, and sleepless nights, I graduated Summa Cum Laude in less than two years and began “climbing the ladder” in my career.
I’m so lucky to be working with her. To every mom out there – Maigan can help!”
